Natural Ways to Control High Blood Pressure

Published by jober at 2:39 am under Uncategorized Edit This

High blood pressure affects many people but there are natural ways to help keep it under control.   A few changes in diet and lifestyle can make a difference.

A high fiber diet including plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains can help keep hypertension under control.  Good news for chocolate lovers - dark chocolate has been shown to reduce high blood pressure.  Dr. Dirk Taubert’s study revealed that a daily dose of dark chocolate can reduce systolic pressure by 2.9 units and diastolic pressure by 09 units.  What a pleasant way to do something nice for your body!  Who’da thought?

Also garlic, in spite of its odor, has been shown to significantly lower blood pressure.   And of course the old stand-bys, exercise and lose weight.

If your doctor has prescribed medication, keep taking it as directed.  Just help your body heal itself by giving it that extra boost with a healthy lifetyle.
